Friday Foster (1975)

Friday Foster, a beautiful photographer, witnesses two murders : that of the richest African American and that of her friend. Soon, she finds herself targeted for assassination and teams up with detective Colt Hawkins to uncover one of the biggest political scams...
Arthur Marks, known TV and exploitation director, brings us another Blaxploitation masterpiece filled with dark and darker twists in the plot. All the Blaxploitation necessities are here to represent ; swinging mood, pimped cars and more pimped clubs, strong women and dangerous men raised up in the hood, gunfights, awesome soundtrack and degradation of the white race! It just doesn't get any better than that but if you are too politically correct, step aside!
Pam Grier could not be absent from that film, especially not when she has interpreted so many Blaxploitation roles so convincingly! Friday Foster (previously a comic character) is one smart lady that had to be broken out of her soft woman cocoon and take the law in her hands. Legendary Yaphet Kotto stands proudly by her side, bringing a whole new vibe to the film (and not just the pro-feminist vibe of other Grier films) as he portrays his version of hard-mother-fucker-ness!
Must watch this : with a whole bucket of K.F.C and plenty of Southern Comfort on the rocks. Get a lady friend (or your best friends) to watch it with you and after the film chill out with good funky music like that soul-y motherfucker !
