Detective Sherlock Holmes and his (more than) assistant find themselves after a vicious nobleman with a killing intent and an affection for black magic. Soon they will discover that greater forces are in power and in order to save England they will need to do more than they bargained for...
Guy Ritchie, you sneaky bastard, you have done it again! Combining the British character and essence of this classic novel hero with his own unique directing skills, Guy Ritchie presents us with an excellent depiction of Holmes. Exaggerating at some times, overdoing it at some other times but still the result is totally worth the trouble.
Robert Downey Jr. as the world famous detective, Sherlock Holmes, may have been the best choice. Downey's overflowing ego and intellect brings a whole new swag for Holmes' legend. In combination with Jude Law, the steady but daring friend and colleague that hold Holmes in one piece. Praise-worthy performance by the entire cast and to the people that worked with settings and costumes. One of the few American films that are not too American!
Must watch this : after a crazy night of partying, fighting and drinking. Get a Bloody Mary (or hair of the dog that bit you), enjoy the film and then proceed to do some gymnastics with that rebellious bastard playing!
