Get Carter (1971)

London gangster Jack Carter travels to Newcastle when his brothers gets killed under "fishy" circumstances. Trying to solve the puzzle, Carter will leave a notable amount of bodies behind him before he can find out the truth...
For director Mike Hodges, this film was his break out of the TV. For the rest of us, Get Carter is the film that together with others solidified Caine's position as one of the most badass British actors ever to be out there. For cinema history, this film was just a prologue of the long-lasting era of British crime and gangster films, combining the classy English nobility and vicious gangsters with interesting accents.
Michael was born for movies like these ; movies that center around one character and that character is enough to hold the movie. Caine sways around corpses, bullets, women and trouble like the gentleman he is. While he is at it, he never forgets to express his noble mobster swag at any chance he gets.
Must watch this : within the borders of evergreen and ever-regulated England. Get some super skunk, a bottle Ginger Beard and watch this with your scumbag friends while the rain falls continuously outside.
