The Andromeda Strain (1971)

Almost all of Piedmont's residents are found dead and their bodies in peculiar condition. A group of scientists are secretly employed on finding out what killed them. They find out that it is an alien virus and they must do everything they can to stop it from spreading...
Robert Wise is an old sailor in this genre so you know that this film is going to be good! The story and its progress is absolutely amazing and you can see that there was a great amount of work to make this film almost perfect. Both the scientific basis of the plot and the special effects equipment are surprisingly believable for a Sci-Fi flick of the era! A must watch for any person with a vast imagination and will for thought!
The cast was definitely not selected by chance. Besides knowing their past work, one can see that their reactions and portrayed feelings are excitingly realistic. Each one of the scientists is a whole different personality and the clash between them is entertaining and surely adds up to the quality of the film. Arthur Hill, David Wayne, James Olson, Kate Reid and Paula Kelly, all show familiarity with the supposed equipment they use and that makes them look even more like real scientists.
Must watch this : on a random Sunday night. Prepare a Caesar salad and a glass of iced tea and let this film take you in its thrilling and anxious atmosphere!
