Mondo Topless (1966)

Not so much of a story here! Actually there is no story here. Only interviews of strippers and go-go girls of the 60's era (mostly American), with teasing videos of them in desert scenes and some smooth swing jazz-psychedelic rock n' roll by The Alladins in the background. That's mondo for you!
Introducing the genre of mondos (or mockumentaries) : documentary-like films but with the only difference that they deal with taboo subjects or subjects that do not usually make a documentary theme (who else has seen a documentary on strippers???). They most certain thing is that you can't take them seriously but in a more light-hearted way. Actually, I have come to find myself learning a lot from such films but maybe that's just me.
Russ Meyer does not need an introduction, especially not from someone like me. It isn't his most remembered film either but it shows his intentions and what's to happen later on his career. He takes some strippers and go-go girls, asks their opinion on some "hot" topics, throws them in the desert, adds some smooth tasteful music (one of my most favorite soundtracks so far) and lets the voyeur inside us appear! A vast quantity (and quality) of buxoms appears in our screens from women who seem to be long gone in the decades and strips of celluloid! Don't treat this as porn or you will lose the meaning, unless you are 12!
Must watch this : definitely in the summer, most probably when the sun hits the highest spot with a cold beer in each hand!
