Fahrenheit 451 (1966)

In the dystopian future, the possession and studying of any kind of book is considered illegal and frowned upon, as television has prevailed. The firemen no longer fight fires but seek and burn books and incriminate their owners. Guy Montag, a married fireman, starts having second thoughts about his job and his life...
François Truffaut brings to life the classic novel by Ray Bradbury and the result is more than surprising. With just the right doses of futurism and an ocean of messages and food for thought, this seemingly classic 60's Sci-Fi stands out of the depths! Fast-pacing action, a depressive mood of totalitarianism and 2 people on the verge of breaking every law ; this is the V for Vendetta of the psychedelic 60's!
Oskar Werner plays the main hero who decides to break out of his cocoon life and Julie Christine is the sophisticated seductress that planted the thought of freedom in his head! Impressive performances by the entire cast, whether it is the training firemen or the secret book society. Be sure to watch this with unhindered attention!
Must watch this : with a glass of English breakfast tea, on a random winter afternoon with a bunch of intellectual friends. After the film, suggest ways of bringing down the government by extreme force after you have apologized to your books for not treating them better.
"For you I could even start reading books"
Oh my god! A book! I must be so fuckin' high!
Why?
