Monster Beach Party A-Go-Go (2009)

An all-girl rock band, The Violas, encounter some van trouble on their way to a show. Stuck in a small beach community with no money until the mechanic fixes the issue, they agree to play for his annual beach party. What they do not know is that there are some strange stuff goin' on there...
Jay Edwards directs this comedy/parody/50's reminiscing film. 50 years ago this story would have been an instant classic, with its rock n' roll, the female power and the cheap monsters and all! In our days ,though , it is downright pathetically hilarious. But that will not be a problem to the trained underground lover. What this movie lacks in its authenticity, it pays out in great costumes and sets and feel-good mood.
Acting may seem strange and bad here but that is not the case. Successfully or not, the actors have tried to portray their characters the way 50's actors would have, with all the cheesiness and American poise. So, they are actors playing 50's actors playing their roles! You get some extra cheerful and twisty rock n' roll to seal the deal, too!
Must watch this: on a hot summer day, when you have nothing to do and you don't plan on doing much either. Put this on, pour yourself some top-notch milkshake and let the waves take you to monster island.
