Common Law Cabin (1967) a.k.a How Much Loving Does a Normal Couple Need?

Dewey Hoople runs a tourist trap along the Colorado River with his wife Babette and their daughter Coral. Normally, he pays a local alcoholic to entice tourists to come to his place. Barney Rickett, an ex-detective that has stolen a fortune in unclaimed jewellery, arrives and everything changes...
Originally scheduled and written to be filmed in a Hawaiian tourist paradise but due to budget cuts (of course) set in Arizona, this film certainly delivers what it promises. Russ Meyer, even after his plans and visions had to be changed, does not fail to deliver once again the doses of exploitation we all need. For me, it may have been better that the settings were like that. The everyday vices of everyday people that Meyer portrays can be realized better with the deserted scenery as a background.
A parade of classic exploitation actors here too! Jackie Moran, Babette Bardot, Adele ReinFrank Bolger, Ken Swofford, Alaina Capri and John Furlong. They all blend perfectly good in the given environment and seem to look good with the famous Eastman Color! Unbelievably real characters and unbelievable reactions!
Must watch this :  in deep summer, with a Mojito in hand, cigarettes, sunglasses and sexy company!

Cherry, Harry & Raquel! (1970)

Harry, small town sheriff and marijuana smuggler, lives with his girlfriend Cherry while having sex on the side with Raquel and doing deeds with Enrique for Mr. Franklin, a local politician. When a certain "Apache" starts claiming his share on the marijuana market, war breaks out and everyone is left either dead or having sex...
Russ Meyer in yet another raunchy classic exploitation film! Personalities, characters and profits crash and collide with each other under the influence of the scorching desert sun and the haze of money and weed! Everything you expect from Meyer is there ; fierce violence, buxotic women living for nothing except for seduction, strong men and their vain motives, fast cars and lots of desert dust! Oh yeah, I feel alive just by thinking of it!
Charles Napier is the corrupt police officer and politician's helping hand, Linda Ashton is his nurse girlfriend and Larissa Ely is lady-of-the-lake Raquel. Bert Santos, John Milo, Frank Bolger and legendary Uschi Digard complete the rest of the cast in their own delinquent way. Cheesy acting, funny at some times but straight edge at other times, this is must watch for any man and woman!
Must watch this : with a good joint, a mojito and a lady that you want to get in bed with.Set the mood with that saucy bastard and some psychedelic dancing. If the combination doesn't help you I really don't know what can!

Mudhoney (1965)

1933. U.S.A in Depression and Prohibition. Calif, a stranger with a hidden past on his way to California, is hired by Lute Wade in Missouri in order to get some traveling money. Calif falls in love with Lute's daughter, Hannah, but her no-good drunk husband, Sidney, stands in the way. Sidney soon turns the town against Calif with the help of a mad preacher, while he is out to get Lute's inheritance. Violence and passions breaks out!
Yet another classic by master Russ Meyer. All the classic elements of Meyer-istic film-making dance around in this film too but it somehow feels a little bit different. Maybe because there is an extra touch of drama and desperation, blending perfectly with the era of the story. A must-see for self-respecting viewers.
Standard Meyer cast! Hal Hopper, John FurlongAntoinette Cristiani, Stuart Lancaster and Frank Bolger. Run-down characters in a messed-up time trying to find their way to salvation! My personal highlight is the preacher's wife, Lee Ballard! Ultra hot and buxotic. My personal fantasy!
Must watch this :  on a hot Saturday night, right before you go out, with some good bourbon on the rocks. Nothing beats that feeling.
