  Even if this movie is a super funny spoof of the 60's and 70's spy films, it takes itself very seriously. Eddie Nicart's debut as a director and it certainly is not a normal start. Not when you get to direct the adventures of a 3-foot tall karateka and his attempts to save the world. Surprisingly enough, the film manages to create the humorous atmosphere without laughing at the protagonist which is something very tactful to achieve.
  Weng Weng is a true legend in his own world. Despite his miniature size, he managed to go up in fame by  acting in such ultra cheap, ultra cheesy films. Not giving a shit about height and size obstacles, Weng Weng goes through the action scenes as if he was a normal-sized actor and does so with an incredible swag. Plus, he is quite the ladies man, since females like Yehlen Catral goes nuts for his little nuts!
Must watch this : this movie needs a open mind and good mood to enjoy it otherwise you will fall into the trap of taking it seriously. Order some fast food, call up your friends and enjoy with lots of beer on a random September evening!

The Velvet Vampire (1971)

  Married but promiscuous Lee and his beautiful wife meet a mysterious vixen in an art show and they are invited to her house in the desert. Careless and free, they just want to have fun but they are soon to find the dark secrets that this desert house holds for them...
  Stephanie Rothman, one of the few women that thrived in the genre of low-budget drive-in flicks, directs this interesting piece of erotic horror. Drenched in the era's hippie free-mindedness and endowed with a cool, saucy soundtrack, this movie may appear like any other of its kind but has a different vibe to it. The desert settings make a nice change for a horror film and the erotic triangle that emerges really set the film off!
  Michael Blodgett is the blonde guy in the middle, Sherry Miles being his dimwitted but gorgeous wife and Celeste Yarnall being the mature temptress that spices things up. All three work out well for such a film and it is really amazing that they all have that stoned-out, I-have-done-way-more-acid-than-I-should-have look in their eyes!
Must watch this : on a lazy, hot summer night with the company of two open-minded lady friends and a hefty amount of cool cocktails (you stick to Black Russians). You never know where it might get!

Black Mama, White Mama (1973)

  When female inmates Lee Daniels (a former harem girl) and Karen Brent (a revolutionary) don't get along and cause a mess, they are chained together in an attempt to a forced get-along by their sadistic matron Densmore. Even so, they manage to escape in the vast wilderness of Philippines jungle and in their attempts to save their lives they bring a hot escalation in the war between local revolutionaries and gangsters.
  Better than average attempt at a Women-In-Prison film by Eddie Romero. Interesting plot and sets (Philippines bring another air of decadence in the mood of the film for me), quality acting and tons of exploitation. Female violence, lesbianism and sadism, nudity, oppressive conditions and more violence!
  Top-notch performances by top-notch exploitation actors Lynn Borden, Margaret Markov, Sid Haig and the goddess Pam Grier. I may be predisposed about her but the fact is that without her this movie would suck (more than it does--in the good way) like so many others. Her dark complexion goes perfect in the natural green environment and of course you can't say female power without her name in the same sentence.
Must watch this : after a good Sunday lunch when you just want to chill. Invite a female friend and let her demonstrate her wrestling skills and power on you. Goes well with a cold, cheap beer.

Women In Cages (1971)

  Naive American bimbo Jeff is charged with 10 years in a Philippine prison after being set up by her drug dealer boyfriend. Inside the prison she finds that hell is real and it's right here on Earth ; sadistic guards and murderous attempts are now her everyday life. She soon convinces her cell-mates to escape, but they are hunted ferociously by trackers in the jungle.
  Prolific Filipino director Gerardo De Leon gives us this cult classic.For those not accustomed to this type of films, it is called Women In Prison (pretty obvious why) and deals with the hardships in female prison, the voyeur style. Lesbianism and naked shower scenes are a must in these films and there are many here too, so if you are prude enough to be offended by that stuff don't watch it! There is also a lot of racism here and other "hot topics" so be careful.This is not a film for everyone.
  Pam Grier is the big deal here. She gives a different performance than the one we are used to. In this film she is a white-race hating, violence-excited Harlem girl. She is a real badass, overcoming the "protagonist's" role. This film is made around her anyway (like any other film she is in), so the rest of the female cast is only for the nudies!
Must watch this : with an open-minded female friend or alone.Alcohol might help in both occasions.
