Filth (2013)

Bruce is not your average cop. A strange case of murder and trouble is worrying Scotland and  Bruce is assigned on the case. Naturally, this would be standard procedure if it wasn't for Bruce's drinking, whoring around and drub abuse. Just when the case is about to unfold, Bruce's secret life is revealed...
Jon S. Baird seems to be walking steadily towards a worldwide fame and he does that with a special ease too. Really remarkable job on this film , which seems to be his serious debut. Intense scenes, even more intense dialogues and great photography help the story of this film evolve beautifully into the fairy tale of debauchery it is. A filthy movie indeed.
James McAvoy is the only reason you will eventually watch this movie. Not that the other actors are of less importance but McAvoy grabs his role by the balls so hard that no space is left for other characters to show their existence. This is both meant in the good and the bad way. But eventually, McAvoy is so powerful in his acting that leaves you with no need or question about any other character in this film!
Must watch this : after a series of extreme parties. Make a cup of hot chocolate and after the film, regret (or maybe not) all the stupid stuff you've done. Curl up in a corner and contemplate where your life is going! But remember, "Same rules apply"...

Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii (1972)

Pink Floyd performs live at an ancient amphitheater in Italy without any audience. Between the songs, we witness Pink Floyd backstage sharing secrets of their music or just having fun while the camera travels through the psychedelic Italian scenery of Pompeii....
Adrian Maben, mostly known for his documentaries, directs probably one of the best live performances ever recorded. Pink Floyd performs and the camera wanders among them idly, documenting their faces and their movements while they trip out. An homage to any stoner, any person that daydreams all day, any one that enjoys a psychedelic trip, this film is not only an undoubted truth of Floyd's excellence but also an outstanding trip to the viewer's soul, a cleansing of some sort. Calm grooves and bombing musical outbursts guide you through the outer realm of your mind and let you play there along the beaches of the lonely island that is your existence in out universe...
Must watch this : shut the drapes, get some incense burning, prepare some Jasmine tea, lay down the floor and have this playing. Close your eyes from time to time to help you trip better. After the film, lay still on the floor, eyes shut, this prayer playing and try to find the meaning of your existence. Stop when you think you are going too insane!

A Virgin Among the Living Dead (1973) a.k.a La nuit des étoiles filantes

A girl arrives to France from London in order to be present at her dead father's will reading. She visits her long-lost relatives and just when she decided to stay with them, unusual things start to happen. She is tortured by strange visions and nightmares including lesbian love and satanic rituals with her a sacrifice. A big secret is about to be disclosed...
Jess Franco in da house and he is about to fuck your brains out. Without protection! Straight from the abyssal depths of Franco's imagination, comes this fine piece of Eurosleaze and Eurohorror sexploitation. French mood in the air combined with spooky castle sets and acting from beyond the realms of reality! Yikes, I feel the chills even now!
The usual Franco cast in new adventures for the not-easily-offended! Christina von Blanc as Christina (!), the young daughter of the deceased man. Britt Nichols, Rosa Palomar, Anne Libert gather up to complete the female cast and damn they are horrifyingly hot! Psycho Howard Vernon is the uncle you don't want to have as a relative but he is there, condemning your existence at family dinners!
Must watch this : with a girl and only the light from some lit red candles. You have to have sex after the film (it is Jess Franco so if you don't you disrespect him). Have the film playing again in mute, blast that unholly shit and go nuts!
