Zin falls in love with Yakuza boss Masashi but they separated by force. Zin gives birth to his child, the autistic Zen. Zen becomes infatuated with martial arts and turns out to be quite the martial arts expert. When Zen's mother gets cancer, she has to find a way to collect money. So, withe the help of her friend Moom, Zen goes out to collect anything she can get from those who owe to her mother.
Coming from miles away from the western world, where martial arts movies are as real as they get, Chocolate is a real treat for the eye. Directed by Prachya Pinkaew, a well-established Thai director of the genre, this movie is filled up to the neck with impressive TaeKwonDo and other martial arts stunts while delivering a mild dose of drama. A weird combination but it definitely pays out in the end.
Yanin Vismitananda stars in this movie and Taphon Phopwandee is her not-so-bright-but-ok sidekick who helps her on the difficult task of collecting dirty debt money while battling with her insecurities. Yanin is an impressive TaeKwonDo-ka wo does not fail to perform equally good as an actor. Her portrayal of the autistic girl is actually quite good
Must watch this :on a random summer day. Prepare yourself a hefty bowl of Thai noodles with vegetables (or just order out), pour some low-quality Coca Cola knock-off and enjoy this with your friends. Then, try to do everything you saw and miserably come to fact that you can't.
