The Graduate (1967)

College graduate Benjamin finds himself in a messy and confusing summer when he starts a sexual relationship with much older Mrs. Robinson. Things get real messed up when Benjamin begins to fall in love with Elaine, Mrs. Robinson's daughter...
Before watching this film, I was expecting to see something like "Hot mature woman artistically seduces young guy-Hot sex". In reality, it was 30 minutes of that and the rest 90 minutes it was a vast trip into the confused mind of Benjamin. Mike Nichols avoids the trap his own film placed and draws a beautiful painting of what it is to be a young person about to start your own life. A little bit of booze,a little bit of sex, alittle bit of drugs abut after that, what is there?!
Dustin Hoffman hits the nail on the head. He manages to portray his character too goo. One time he is a horny college boy who just graduated and then he finally starts becoming a man and takes a life-changing decision. Katharine Ross is the equally lost girl he chooses and Anne Bancroft is her mother who got a taste of the honey before giving it to her daughter. I would have chosen the mother but then again what do I know?!
Must watch this : with your hot mature neighbor from next door. Ask for help with a recipe and let her seduce in her kitchen! Then eat the meal she so beautifully cooked.

No Country For Old Men (2007)

A hunter comes across a drug deal gone wrong and manages to snatch a briefcase full of money. Soon, a ruthless hitman who enjoys his job too much will be assigned to take him out. A primitively violent chase ensues...
Something about the Coen brothers appears to be really sick and twisted and I mean it in the best of ways. Meaning, it takes a lot of ingenuity to film a movie like that but still in the end to be so ruthless as to deprive bot the viewer and the characters any consolation. Not to be misunderstood, this movie is a real piece of art but to enjoy it, buckle with patience and a more Taoist approach to viewing life and art.
Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones and Kelly Macdonald. If it wasn't for such a cast, this film would not have been the same. Bardem's eyes are filled with a dark, unearthly thirst for murder while Brolin's gives off an air of "I got nothing to lose since I am already lost". Plus points for Tommy Lee Jones' amazing, rusty voice that is like a drone note giving you the heart note of the musical piece that is this film.
Must watch this : alone, definitely alone. With a cup of American coffee even if it's in the middle of the night.

The Mission (1986)

A group of Jesuit missionary priests succeeded in building a small community of local tribes that have recently turned to Christianity. Sheltered in the jungle, the mission gives home to a former mercenary who tries to find peace with his crime. When the church decides to break the mission's operation and oust the people, the priests must take a stand...
Roland Joffé delivers a very controversial film. While The Mission's story, cast and starting ambitions are very promising, the progress of the film reveals a different result than the expected. The overall "lesson"of the film is quite mature thought-wise ; the controversy on the subject on what is God's will and what is man's thirst for power? Sadly, the film doe snot get to explore that question adequately and the viewer may be left with a feeling of blankness in the end.
Nevertheless, because this film boasts some very good actors, one can not just turn his look away from it and one shouldn't either. Robert De Niro is a vicious man in love who kills his brother and then gets crazy-guilty about it, Jeremy Irons is a holy man who pays just a little bit too much respect to the human laws, Ray McAnally is the local man in power and hardly cares about what will happen and Liam Nesson in a surprise-surprise role!
Must watch this : if you want to state that "I have watched all of De Niro's films" then you should watch this film on any given chance. Otherwise, watch if you can;t find anything more interesting to watch!

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975)

Rebel with no cause McMurphy enters a mental institution in an effort to avoid ordinary punishment for his crimes. Not standing any form of incarceration, he will start creating anarchy and obstacles for the oppressing doctors. The fellow voluntary patients start to like him and take him as their leader...
This film is a very important landmark in modern cinema. Like many other films in the 70's, One Flew Over... examines the vast subject of mental illnesses but the director was clever enough not to leave it there. Milos Forman goes another step forward and leaves subtle comments on how modern society confronts mental illnesses and a sad realization on who is really free and happy.
Jack Nicholson was already a very active actor by then but this film was just another proof of his great talent. I can't really tell if his character is crazy or just faking it and that is just exactly the point of it all! The rest of the cast is equally and maybe even more exceptional ; Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, Sydney Lassick, Brad Dourif, Will Sampson, William Redfield and super-bitch Louise Fletcher.
Must watch this :  besides its seemingly depressive mood, this film is actually a shine of hope in the darkness. You can watch it in times of bad mood and I promise it will leave you with a sense of bittersweet happiness!

Plunder Road (1957)

A gang of men stage a well-organized robbery and try to stick to their plan. After they make it with a nine-ton gold shipment, they divide into three truck loads and head to different directions to confuse the police. Soon, they find out that no crime goes unpunished...
For a film noir is neither so dark neither so atmospheric. Hubert Cornfield creates some very serious dialogues between the culprits but that is not enough to make this film actually thrilling and adventurous. The black-and-white color is a big plus and so are the angles and sequences but something gets in the way of this film becoming a very good film noir. Is it the story? Is it the acting? Is it the fact that it's too politically correct (the true American lesson in the end teaching that all criminals get it some way or the other) ? Watch it and check for yourself.
All the acting of the film is decent enough, just as expected from a U.S. film of that era. Most of the gang members are quite "not famous" but
Gene Raymond and Elisha Cook Jr. are the most recognizable. If you ask me, there's one person that steals the show and that is the old lady that fucks it all up int he end.
Must watch this : with a good old hot bowl of mushroom soup on a random col January night.

Andrea, The Nympho (1968) a.k.a Andrea - Wie ein Blatt Auf Nackter Haut

Andrea is an everyday beautiful young girl who seems to be living a very ordinary life with her boyfriend. What's Difficult to tell about her is that she is driven by an unstoppable thirst for sexual contact. Reaching the limits of her appetite, Andrea will face her demons...
It's one of these movies, yeah. The one that have absolutely no point in existing but there is something that simply draws you into spending 90 minutes for watching. Blame it on the lack of money, blame it on the faulty equipment? Blame it wherever you like, the point remains that Hans Schott-Schöbinger could not have done any better with what was given to him. Maybe under different circumstances, this film would be awesome.
The film follows a classic plot that seemed to catch on in the late 60's and early 70's ; that of nymphomania. It actually sounds and must be an awesome thing to encounter if you are a man but talking about cinema and cult cinema, the subject was being exploited yearly by many directors. There's actually little left to show, from both the saucy side and the sad side, so I guess Andrea succeeds in that ; keeping nymphomania alive.
Must watch this : utterly drunk and shitfaced, high as a kite otherwise all the blurriness of the film won't make any sense!

Love Camp 7 (1969)

Two female U.S Army undercover agents are sent to a concentration camp where a scientist is believed to be held prisoner. Little do they know that this camp is not like any other Nazi camp but a what seems to be a brothel for the SS...
OK, it's Lee Frost. You shouldn't have expected anything less or anything more. The usual sleaze hits a new soft target and everything actually goes far better than expected. Nazi soldiers getting it on with captured women may be one of the sickest topics I've ever heard and that seems even filthier when a film about that is totally non serious. That's exploitation, everybody ; the use of what's upsetting you given in a humorous way.
Bob Cresse, Maria Lease, Kathy Williams, Rodger Steel, Bruce Kimball and a bunch of skinny, undernourished naked girls. You really shouldn't expect much but I guess you probably knew that the moment you read the title. Even so , Bruce Kimball manages to make a difference and make one hell of a cult Nazi prison manager. His slimy face and expressions are great and produce real cult essence.
Must watch this : on a random day. This film holds no need for special occasions but guarantees fun nonetheless. Enjoy with a cold beer.

Enter The Dragon (1973)

A young kung fu master agrees to work with the C.I.A and is sent on a private island owned by a crime lord. There, he will take part in the martial arts championship but also spy on the illegal activities that take part on the island...
It's really something when a martial arts film is not just an excuse for showing off the actor's skills. That is the case here! A somewhat classic story without many cliches that hits all the right spots for film lovers. Robert Clouse made sure he also put the right elements of exploitation so this film practically is all a man can need ; ass-kicking, good vs. evil, some hot chicks and some more ass-whooping.
Bruce Lee is undoubtedly one of the best martial artist to hit the big screen. He made historical changes in the way the western world sees martial arts and planted a fighter worm in everyone who watched his films. All of his expertise and chi has given him an extra cocky attitude that is obvious in his acting. Maybe too cocky, if you ask me but anyway. John Saxon and Jim Kelly are also great (in the same league of actors as  Lee) and especially Kelly, who combines jumping style fighting and street gangsta swag.
Must watch this :  together with your kung fu master and your clan of devoted warriors.

The Image (1975)

Jean, a young and possibly rich bon viveur who spends his time going out and exploring his sexuality with his friend Claire. When Claire introduces him to her friend-slave Anne, a trip through the exciting world of S&M is about to begin...
Radley Metzger put his signature on this masterpiece. For those who don't know him, Metzger is the director that should probably be the most suitable for directing porn. Correction, if all porn was made by him, then porn would be Oscar-level good. Portraying the emotional dimension of it all rather than concentrating on the full-frontal nudity, Metzger's films (and this one as his masterpiece) tell beautiful stories of lewd content in the best of ways. Ladies, if you can't get aroused with this film, then stop trying.
Although Carl Parker has quite the douche face, he steps in his character's shoes just great and becomes a true symbol of domination. Marilyn Roberts and Mary Mendum are a fantastic kinky duo, the first being a horny domina and the second being the willing victim.
Must watch this : with your BDSM friends (if you are into that shit). Otherwise, watch it and experiment with that stuff in your own life. You never know!

Toy Story (1995)

Woody, a cowboy doll sees his life as Andy's toy getting out of control as Andy gets a new toy for his birthday ; an amazing new spaceman figure, Buzz. And if that wasn't enough, Andy is moving out and Woody has to make sure he remains his favorite toy...
John Lasseter, devoted to the animation genre is responsible for the first cinema craze that swept over many kids back in 1995 and I am glad to be one of them. The concept of Toy Story to this day has me amazed, as even now the chance of toys communicating with each other and collaborating strikes me as utterly unreal. And it's even more thrilling (especially as a kid) when these toys have unique personalities, they are goofy and funny and have strong friendship bonds and sworn enemies.
Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Don Rickles and many other well-known actors give life and their voices to the characters of Toy Story and the result is really something. The humor throughout the film is appropriate not only for kids but also for adults who can find saucy spots! Now that I think of it, maybe I should watch again all the films I liked a kid. Maybe there's more saucy spots hiding from my lost innocent mind!
Must watch this : if you are a kid, nag to your parents to let you watch this (again if you already have) and watch it again when you hit 18. If you're grown up (my condolences), watch it again with your primary school friends from the days of yore. In each case, after the film go to McDonald's for a Kids Menu and get nasty with ringing doorbells and running away.

Get Carter (1971)

London gangster Jack Carter travels to Newcastle when his brothers gets killed under "fishy" circumstances. Trying to solve the puzzle, Carter will leave a notable amount of bodies behind him before he can find out the truth...
For director Mike Hodges, this film was his break out of the TV. For the rest of us, Get Carter is the film that together with others solidified Caine's position as one of the most badass British actors ever to be out there. For cinema history, this film was just a prologue of the long-lasting era of British crime and gangster films, combining the classy English nobility and vicious gangsters with interesting accents.
Michael was born for movies like these ; movies that center around one character and that character is enough to hold the movie. Caine sways around corpses, bullets, women and trouble like the gentleman he is. While he is at it, he never forgets to express his noble mobster swag at any chance he gets.
Must watch this : within the borders of evergreen and ever-regulated England. Get some super skunk, a bottle Ginger Beard and watch this with your scumbag friends while the rain falls continuously outside.

The Man and the Monster (1959) a.k.a El hombre y el monstruo

The former greatest pianist in the world is now training a very talented young girl who is about to give her first big performance. When a reporter wants to pry in their story, terrible things start to happen. The piano teacher may be hiding some very dark secrets...
Damn, this is as good as it gets. I mean what storyline can beat a classic Mexican horror film like this?! Prolific director Rafael Baledón puts the cheese in super-cheesy and brings forth a hmm-masterpiece. I really loved the cheap but meaningful sequences and the transformation scenes (a treat for the eyes). If I got scared ? No, not in any case but on the other hand this is not the point of the film. Would I solemnly recommend it? Yeah, if you got the balls for it! Not everyone is ready for such amount of Z-movie cult essence...
All the actors do the best they can but at times it's not enough. Not because of them but because of the cheap character of the overall result. And not anyone can deal with such a script. I mean, the film bounces from thrilling horror spooks to sentimental monologues in a split of a second (?!) leaving the actors to travel back and forth in feelings. Kudos to Enrique Rambal, Abel Salazar, Martha Roth and Ofelia Guilmáin.
Must watch this :  when you are almost in a mood for comedy but not so gleeful. This film falls right in that blank. Make chilli con carne, get a Desperados and chill!
